Into the Flames is literally become one of my favorite Firefighting Simulators out there. There are a few reasons why, but let me dive into some background first of all:
An Emergency Services simulator in general is hard to pull-off. There are so many variables that come into play and it’s virtually impossible to have every single factor programmed into one of these games, yet Into The Flames does it with such grace. To start with, lets think of the emergency itself – “A Grass Fire” (as an example)
You can think of a grass fire pretty simply: grass burning. Let’s now think a little bigger, a grass fire that is going in a direction (North, West, South, East), and suddenly you’ve improved the realism of that game because it’s now reacting to an element. Lets add some more dimensions to it, such as it going up a slight hill, making the flames go higher and quicker. These are things that Into the Flames does so well.
Now if we were to look at another side of this, and it’s the Firetruck. You have hoses, water, ladders, breathing apparatus, hydrant tools, axes, saws – you name it. We’re adding more and more variable to the game, and Into the Flames does this so seeming less you can have a real authentic experience from your computer.
Now, granted, this goes without saying – there are obviously things to work on, but seeing the amount of work that they are managing to pull out is beyond outstanding. You can see this on their Discord channel
This game both has Multi-player and Single version however I recommend playing with a friend, as I do. There’s a decent selection of trucks to choose from, and you can also create your own custom skin (as me and my friend does too), and you can choose the jobs you go to very simply through the games in-built CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system. From a job being a Alarm Activation (sometimes, there’s even no fire just a faulty alarm which you have to deactivate) to a Structure fire, where you have to plumb into those hydrants and put the fire out and rescue people – this game certainly keeps you on your toes.
I’d like to see them work on AI for responding back-up crews for large jobs, but every update I’m impressed and I can’t wait to see what they do next!
That Game Is: Stunning
